The atmosphere in the arena was astounding - easily the best of the entire trip - and the game itself was intense. It was fantastic.

@camcharron
If the Norris was specifically for the best offensive defenseman, Mike Green would have one on his mantle already. It's for the best all-around defenseman, which is ever-so-slightly different.

Personally, I don't think the Selke is a stupid award. I just think it needs to be specifically designated as being for the best two-way forward rather than the best defensive forward. They've been awarding it to the best two-way forwards in the league for years, so they may as well make it official.Daniel Wagnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14218580923841725982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2748120234252907284.post-42246761336982835102011-03-11T00:18:17.865-08:002011-03-11T00:18:17.865-08:00I'm leaving this here just because it's th...I'm leaving this here just because it's the newest post, and thus most likely to be read by Harrison and Skeeter.

It was so freaking awesome to watch the game with you guys tonight. Not because you are basically celebrities (in the Vancouver hockey Internet circles), but because you are just awesome people to be around.

Though it was pretty awesome to be walking around in an arena in San Jose and have people recognize my friend from Canada. I can not say anything like that has happened around me before. It was fun.

So, thanks, I guess. Though we were rooting for different teams, it might be the best time I've had at a hockey game. Well, except for the Sharks' overtime playoff win against Colorado last year. That was kind of epic.Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07249817752317541395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2748120234252907284.post-89996931357909267572011-03-10T18:03:09.307-08:002011-03-10T18:03:09.307-08:00All this talk over pointless hardware. It's called the Norris Trophy.

I wrote about the Selke/Kesler/Malhotra conundrum back in January and its still a topic that fascinates me: http://thehockeywriters.com/premature-selke-trophy-debate-manny-malhotra-v-ryan-kesler/

As I've commented several times before on this site, a big part of Malhotra's worth is his ability to win faceoffs, and considering he starts a huge number of his shifts in the defensive zone, that has helped the Canucks go from a middle of the pack GAA team to one of the frontrunners for the Jennings Award.camcharronhttp://twitter.com/camcharronnoreply@blogger.com
