Be warned: this cat took the quiz, and now he struggles with confidence.
The Canucks dressed a lot of different guys this season. There were injuries on the backend that necessitated absurd callups. There was a season-long search for the right fit on the fourth line. There was cap trouble. Whatever the reason, 39 guys wore the orca in 2010-11, and PITB has created a Sporcle quiz that will test your ability to remember them all. You might be shocked to discover how quickly you forget.
Seriously. I made the quiz, took it five minutes later, and only got 36 of 39. Am I the biggest idiot ever? Maybe. Or maybe it's just more difficult than it sounds. Click the link below to see for yourself, and don't forget to come back here and let us know how you did.
Two helpful hints: the roster is alphabetical, and you only have to enter last names.
31/39
ReplyDeleteHarder than it seems, didn't even remember some of the guys had seen the NHL.
Ahh... I got all of them except for Perrault.
ReplyDelete31 out of 39. Had lots of trouble remember the various bodies on the 4th line.
ReplyDelete38! So close. Goddamn Schaeffer...
ReplyDelete38/39. Forgot Oberg... Good quiz!
ReplyDelete33/39. :P I was doing pretty good until I got stumped.
ReplyDeleteYou got 34 out of 39 answers correct
ReplyDeleteI missed: Jonas Andersson, Evan Oberg, Ryan Parent, Joel Perrault, Rick Rypien
17/39 In my defense, there was no way I could spell some of those names so I just skipped them. :P
ReplyDeleteI cheated only to find spelling...friggin samuelsson why would you put two s's at the end like that? didn't help, still only got 31.
ReplyDelete31/39 hard quiz i missed:Jonas Andersson,Mario Bliznak,Alexandre Bolduc,Evan Oberg,Ryan Parent,Joel Perrault,Sergei Shirokov,Aaron Volpatti.
ReplyDeletei feel kinda dumb missing volpatti and bolduc.
35/39 missed Andersson, Desbien, Bolduc, Perrault :(
ReplyDelete34/39
ReplyDeleteMissed Evan Oberg, Ryan Parent, Joel Perrault, Mario Bliznak, Aaron Volpatti. don't think I could have remembered them even if I had another 30 min
33/39
ReplyDeleteJonas Andersson, Evan Oberg, Joel Perreault... and I can't believe I missed Ryan Parent, Rick Rypien and RAFFI TORRES!
Anitha
39/39. Nearly forgot schaefer, desbiens, parent and my god rypien, but I remembered as time was winding down. :| it's harder than it seems =)))
ReplyDeleteOberg, Perreault, Parent, Shirkov.
ReplyDeleteSigh... I also tried about 6 different spellings of Sauve. Is it just me, or has he really not played a game!?!?
you should make it non-alphabetical, but otherwise, great quiz!
ReplyDelete35/39
ReplyDeleteParent, Oberg, Rypien, Perrault
I came down to missing one in the B's and settled for screaming "beeeetch".
ReplyDeleteTurns out it was Bliznak.
37/39
ReplyDeleteMissed Perrault and Bliznak. Almost forgot Schaeffer and Andersson too. Oddly enough, I had no trouble remembering the entire defense.
I got 36 but you cheated and spelled Alex Bolducs name Alexandre, yet you left Burrows as just Alex.
ReplyDelete32/39. Forgot Andersson, Bliznak, Parent, Perrault, Schaefer, Shirokov, and Volpatti. Should've gotten Shirokov, but I'm not too embarassed about missing the others...
ReplyDeleteGood quiz.
38/39. I am an idiot. I missed SHIROKOV. Remembered Bliznak, Parent, Schaefer, Volpatti... even ANDERSSON... but missed Shirokov. Bah!
ReplyDeletemissed Perrault, Vopatti, Andersson. Volpatti is the only one I feel bad about missing

"
You can just type in last names.
34/39, cant believe I forgot Volpatti, Schaefer, Andersson, Parent, and Bliznak...i know all of them easy just forgot about these guys cuz they played the least really..cant believe I remembered Perrault xD awesome quiz!!!
ReplyDelete35/39.
ReplyDeleteI remembered Joel Perrault and Guillaume Desbiens, yet I forgot about Sami Salo. I should be ashamed of myself.
I spent a lot of time trying to remember Peter Shaefer and Evan Oberg's names as well. The only one I really don't remember is Jonas Andersson.
But man, Salo?
Frikken Schaefer!
ReplyDeleteGot 35/39...missed 5 call-ups. Bliznak, Perrault, Volpatti, Schaeffer, Shirokov. Almost forgot Ballard....how could I forget the glorious hipchecks?
ReplyDeleteSauve, I think he only played one game if I remember correctly, but that one diving move to get the puck free to the Sedins and set up a Wizardous goal was so clutch, I couldn't forget him.
@Anonymous from France
ReplyDeletelmao mte
I actually missed aaron rome, andrew alberts, jonas anderson and ryan parent..blah
ReplyDelete36/39 Perrault, Andersson, Schaefer
ReplyDeleteDidn't remember anything about the latter two. I was so desperate, I even typed in Eddie Lack just to see if it counts.
31/39. I was ashamed, but that seems to be a pretty popular score!
ReplyDelete34/39
ReplyDeleteAwful: I can forgive myself for forgetting Andersson and Schaefer, but I can't believe I forgot Rypien, Sweatt, and Volpatti. Just terrible.
32/39!Andersson,Bliznak,Desbiens(Thumby!,Rypien(!),Shirokov,Sweatt and Volpatti, the forgootten men.I might be lying to myself when I consider myself a casual fan....
ReplyDeleteA heads up; you forgot to add Yann Suave, who dressed for four games this season.
ReplyDeleteA heads up: Yann Suave is Rico Suave's lesser known brother. He doesn't play for the Canucks. Yann Sauve, on the other hand...
ReplyDelete39 out of 39, but i did have trouble remembering if it was jonas andersson or peter andersson.
ReplyDeletebut i play A LOT of NHL11 so i guess i had an advantage
Well, I entered Sauvé with the accent which didn't work ;-), and took me two good minutes to find Hodgson back (shame on me). 34/39 not bad coming from a non hockey market :)
ReplyDelete35/39. I missed 4 obvious ones. Salo, Tambellini, Parent, and Andersson(Less obvious). I got schaefer and some of the more obscure ones pretty quick, don't know how I missed Salo or Tambellini.
ReplyDelete36/39
ReplyDeleteOberg, Perrault, Andersson - it's all the callups that are the killers. (I barely got Bliznak)
Tried about 40 different spellings of 'Tambellini', finally got it as a buzzer beater.
ReplyDeleteAlso, almost forgot Higgins of all people.
24/39
ReplyDeleteSeriously, who knows how to spell Oreskovich off the top of their head??? Can't believe some of the ones I forgot... I'm disappointed in my level of "fan-ness".
32/39. Forgot Andersson (never even heard of this guy!), Bliznak, Desbiens (my favourite name ever!), Oberg, Parent, Perrault (remembered his initials but that didn't help!) and Schaefer.
ReplyDeleteTried a million spelling combinations of Cory Schneider, Corey Schneider, Cory Schnieder, Corey Schnieder, etc... until I realized last names only worked!
I forgot the goalies. I feel not so smart.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the 'Nucks will play the Stars:
ReplyDeleteIf they should win their final four,
And then the Hawks no more than two.
Do palm trees grow in Labrador?
The schedule says it could occur:
The Hawks will lose to Montreal,
And beat the Wings not more than once.
Are reindeer found in Senegal?
The Stars play only alsorans:
They've yet to beat the Avalanche,
A team they will be meeting twice.
Does Dallas really have a chance?
As of today damn right they do:
Is there a place called Timbuktu?
Whisky Jack
I dredged up every call up, opening roster player I could think of to get to 37 and ran out of time thinking of the last two. those last two were Corey Schneider and Roberto Luongo.
ReplyDeleteI also didn't know you could just enter in last names, and spent 2 minutes trying to figure out how to spell Guilluame before I went "Oh!" and entered in Desbiens
36/39
ReplyDeleteForgot Bliznak, Volpatti and Sweatt. The alphabetical order helped me but still...
Wisp, I wish I had read your comment prior to taking said quiz.... I scored a 36 because I ran out of time... Guillaume and other's had me goin crazy trying to spell their names... The last name deal woulda saved me the necessary amount of time.
ReplyDelete36...Desbiens, Volpatti, Shirokov
ReplyDeleteAshamed I missed those ones.
32/39 - I was on a roll until for about 5 min then completely blanked on Andersson, Bliznak, Oberg, Rypien, Schaefer, Shirokov and Volpatti =(
ReplyDelete28/39 and I really liked the Sedin twofer. Only had to type that one once! :D
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not proud of my 28. I'm ok with it.
25/39. Embarassing, especially when I finally remebered the names of our defense but couldn't spell "Ehrhoff" without looking it up.
ReplyDelete38/39
ReplyDeleteMissed Volpatti
i got luongo, kessler, two sedins and half of trampolinni!
